Rieske dioxygenases are from a family of enzymes known to initiate the biodegradation pathway of serveral recalcitrant pollutants, such as PCBs and aromatic hydrocarbons. Enzymes from this family include:

• Naphthalene 1,2-dioxygenase
• Toluene 2,3-dioxygenase
• Biphenyl 2,3-dioxygenase

Our prediction algorithm for this class of enzymes has been published in the Journal of Computational Information and Modeling (Abstract) and our first succesful prediction application has been published in Environment, Science & Technology (Abstract)
